Thank you for using our Shopify integration! If you're experiencing any issues, this guide will help you quickly resolve common problems.
You can use the navigation menu to the right of this article, to navigate down to the exact issue you are facing.
1. Connection Problems: Using the Wrong URL
Problem: The integration isn't connecting properly.
Solution:
Make sure you're using your Shopify account URL, not your store URL
In most cases, it's a funky looking URL with dashes and characters
Your account URL can be found in the left sidebar of your Shopify dashboard
⚠️ Use the dashboard URL instead of "yourbrand.myshopify.com"
2. Missing Permissions: Configuration Step Skipped
Problem: The integration isn't accessing your store data.
Solution:
During setup, ensure ALL permission checkboxes are selected
These permissions are necessary for the integration to function properly
⚠️ If you've already installed, you may need to uninstall and reinstall with all permissions checked
3. Incomplete Installation
Problem: The setup process wasn't fully completed.
Solution:
Confirm you clicked the Install button at the end of the setup process
If everything else looks correct but the integration still isn't working:
Uninstall the integration
⚠️ Reinstall, ensuring you complete all steps
Click the final Install button
4. Product Matching Difficulties
Problem: Products aren't showing up in search results.
Solution:
Use the exact product name as it appears in your Shopify store
For example, you may write "DEJ Face Serum" in AR but call it "D-E-J Face Serum" in Shopify. No matter how many times you search DEJ, it’s not going to find it.
We highly recommend you open your Shopify store in another tab to verify product names
Remember to start typing in the search field to activate product search
⚠️ Note that only products currently in your Shopify store will appear in results
5. API Token Issues
Problem: You're getting authentication errors or "Invalid API Token" messages.
Solution:
The API token shown during setup can only be revealed ONCE
⚠️ If you didn't save it, you'll need to generate a new one:
Go to your Shopify dashboard > Settings > Apps & Sales Channels
Select your AR Integration app
Under API credentials, select "Revoke" then "Generate new credentials"
Copy the new API key, API secret key, and Admin API access token
Update these in your AR Integration settings
6. Missing Information in Integration Fields
Problem: You're not sure what information goes in which field during setup.
Solution:
Shop URL: Use the URL from the top of your Shopify navigation sidebar (NOT your customer-facing store URL)
API Key: Found in API credentials section of your app
API Secret Key: Found alongside the API Key in the credentials section
Admin API Access Token: Click "Reveal Token Once" in the API credentials section
7. Inventory Not Syncing
Problem: Your inventory isn't updating between systems.
Solution:
Confirm "Sync Product Stock" is toggled ON in AR Settings > Integrations > Shopify
Verify you've SAVED your integration settings after toggling this option
Check that products are correctly matched between systems (#4 in this guide above)
⚠️ Allow up to 15 minutes for initial sync to complete
8. App Installation Permissions
Problem: You're unable to install the app due to permission restrictions.
Solution:
Ensure you have Admin access to your Shopify account
⚠️ If you're not the account owner, ask the owner to either:
Grant you full Admin permissions → reference here: Manage Shopify User Permissions
Complete the installation steps themselves
