Connecting the Bluetooth M2 Stripe Card Readers

Tip: Stripe Reader M2 supports EMV chip, contactless, and swipe payments. It’s battery-powered and connects with your point of sale application over Bluetooth for easy, on-the-go use. This device only connects to the iOS.

1. Charge your device for at least 2 hours before initial use. While charging, contact AR Chat Support and have them connect your bluetooth card reader for you. They will need the serial number on the back of the device.

(The serial number starts with STRM followed by a series of numbers.)

Before connecting to your device, make sure you Bluetooth is turned on. (However, please do not try and connect through your device's bluetooth settings.)

2. Once you have turned the reader on and charged it fully, head to the Aesthetic Record iOS app.

  • Hit the blue button on the bottom right

  • Choose the Credit Card Icon

  • Choose a patient or a test profile

  • Select your clinic

  • Click the + ADD button in the top right and enter in the amount of .50 and type in test as the item

  • Now, click the blue checkout button on the bottom right

  • Choose Select Payment Method

  • Choose Card>SWIPE Card> Bluetooth

  • Hit the BLUE charge button and the reader will connect

  • The app may ask if you want to allow location services, hit yes or allow.

  • Please allow 5-15 minutes for the card reader to perform a software update. While the reader updates the lights will flash.

  • Once the reader updates, follow the prompts on the screen to enter in a credit card. Once the payment is complete, remove the card.

  • After you've completed these steps, you are all set!

Tip: Keep in mind you should have a 1:1 ratio for reader and iPad. The reader won't effectively work if you try to connect it to multiple devices that all have bluetooth on at the same time. We highly recommend designating 1 iPad and 1 card reader to work together. You can put unique stickers on each device, so that you know which card reader works best with which device.

3. If you have the Stripe Card Reader (BBPOS Chipper Old Version):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaOD9TAXRDE

Connecting the Stripe BBPOS WisePOS-E Card Reader (WiFi Card Reader)

Tip: This reader connects with the payment gateway of Stripe. The reader can be used on both web and iOS to swipe, insert, or tap credit cards. This also accepts Apple Pay.

4. When you first receive the device, install the battery. With the back of the device facing you, lift up from the indentation at the bottom left corner to detach the back cover. Insert the battery by sliding it into the exposed slot with the gold connectors at the top aligned. After the battery is in place, charge the reader by using an outlet or the optional ethernet dock. Connect the reader to power by plugging the provided cable into the port with the lightning bolt symbol.

Tip: Power button and charging port displayed below.

5. Before you begin, charge the reader. After the reader is fully charged, hold down the power button on the right hand side until the screen turns on.

  2. Click Connect to Wifi

  3. Choose Your Wifi Network and Enter in your WiFi Password

  4. If it prompts to update, select update (this may take 30 minutes)

10. Select your Card Reader and hit the BLUE charge button and the reader will connect
11. After you've completed these steps, you are all set!

Tip: Press the power button to sleep or wake the device. To fully power off the device, hold down the power button until the restart or power off option is shown on the screen, then select it.

In a countertop deployment, leaving the device on for extended periods is expected. With a full charge, you can expect the battery to last about eight hours.

Even when it’s not in use, leave the BBPOS WisePOS E plugged in and powered on to receive automatic software updates.
