Create Pre or Post Treatment Instructions
1. Log in to your account via the web. Click on Settings Gear > Clinical Documentation > Treatment Instructions > Pre Treatment (or Post Treatment) > Create Pre Treatment (or Post Treatment Instruction).
2. On this page, you can add the title, copy and paste or type in the instructions, and then hit Save. You can also assign to a service. If you want to print this instruction for the patient, simply hit Print.
Tip: For post treatment instructions, the instructions will send out automatically to the patient's email following the conclusion of the appointment. They will also be uploaded to the portal at the start time of the appointment.
3. To edit the Pre/Post Treatment Email that will be sent along with the instructions, click Edit. You can change the variables by copying and pasting the snippets into the email.
4. If you want to attach the instructions to the service in Smart Configuration, go to Appointments, Wrench Icon, Smart Configuration, Services, and select the service you want to add the instructions to. Scroll down to where it says "Select Pre Treatment Instructions" & "Select Post Treatment Instructions.
Click on the dropdown arrow to the right and choose which instructions you are going to assign to the service.
Click save.

Tip: Remember, once the appointment is attached to the procedure, the system will automatically send out the Post Treatment Instructions to the patient's email following the conclusion of the appointment. However, you can still manually send them.
5. Click on Patients tab at the top, enter in the patient's name in the search box, and then click on their profile. From the patient's timeline, look for the procedure and click on Post Treatment at the bottom.

6. Log in to your account via the AR app. Tap the bubble icon in the bottom right, then the magnifying glass icon. Type in the patient's name in the search box and tap the profile.
7. From the patient's timeline, look for the procedure and hit SEND POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS in the bottom left.
Tip: Please note that even if you send the post treatment instructions manually to the patient right after their appointment, AR will still send them the post treatment instructions automatically once the appointment is done.

Pre-treatment instructions will disappear after the appointment, while post-treatment instructions will stay in the portal for 6 months.
