Use Lock Mode for Consent Signing and Questionnaires

Lock your iPad within the AR app, ensuring client privacy during consent form/questionnaire completion for security.

Updated over a week ago

Before a treatment, you may want your client to sign a consent form/fill out a questionnaire on your iPad (if they did not previously on the portal.) However, there are times when handing a client an iPad with free access to your Aesthetic Record app is a security risk. They might go back and retrieve other user data without you noticing. To prevent this from happening, you can now lock your iPad without leaving the app. By locking the app, it keeps the client from accessing other parts of AR.

1. To lock your iPad while using the app, follow these steps:

1. Log in to AR on the Ipad.

2. Search for your patient by tapping on the blue bubble in the bottom right, then hit the magnifying glass icon. Type in your patient's name and tap into their profile.

3. Tap on the + icon at the top-right corner to start a procedure, then fill in the correct information.

2. Once you are at the Questionnaire Step, tap on the correct questionnaire. Then, tap the lock icon in the top right.

3. Now that the iPad has been locked and secured, you can hand it over to your patient to fill out. Once the patient has finished, they can hand it back to you. When you get your iPad back, simply tap the lock icon again, select your email, and enter your password for AR or passcode (see important note below) to unlock it.
You can repeat the same process for your consents.

Alert: Important note: In order for you to unlock the AR app with a passcode, you need to generate one first. Log in to AR on the web, click Settings Gear Icon, and under Account Setup, click Your Profile. On this page, you will see the option to type in your own passcode or generate a passcode. Then hit Save and you can now unlock the Ipad using a passcode.
